In Memorium – PD Singer

October 25, 2020 By Rocky Ridge Books

It’s with a heavy heart that we here at Rocky Ridge say farewell to our friend, fellow author, and the founder of this press, PD Singer. She once saw a need for a co-op publisher, where all participating authors help each other. Now, years later, we have form a successful team with the shared goal of releasing quality gay romance works for our readers.

She was the driving force behind Rocky Ridge Books, and the glue that holds our family of authors together.

Pam left us on October 1. Her legacy lives on in her family and her works. She left behind three additional Jake and Kurt stories for fans of her Mountain series that are even now being prepared for publication. She is greatly missed.

Some free side stories for you

April 19, 2020 By Rocky Ridge Books

Everyone staying in? Staying healthy?  Eden and Pam have stories to encourage you.

Bo and Lucky have had a dreadful time at holidays. Somehow their cases conspire to keep them away from each other, but Eden’s done a little something to make their Christmas memorable. Free for a few days at Amazon:

Lucky has dreamed of an old-fashioned Christmas with Bo for years. Unfortunately, something always got in the way. This year is looking unusually promising, though, if they can keep well-intentioned family and work from spoiling the magic of the season. Their first Christmas together will set the bar for years to come, which means blending their favorite traditions and taking the best of both.

Last minute shopping? Bo’s list. Holiday junk food? Lucky’s. Nostalgic Christmas songs? Bo’s. Hiding to avoid the dreaded office Christmas party? Not Bo’s. And while Lucky is up for compromise, he’s got something extra special planned for his partner, something a little bit naughty and whole lot nice.

Amazon has your copy waiting.

Pam’s been getting the Mountain series back up and running. So far, Fire on the Mountain and Snow on the Mountain of the novels are available, plus some shorts. Into the Mountains is the prequel for Fire, and it stands alone now, ready to be Kurt and Jake’s origin story, rather than hiding at the back of the book to make you go hmm.

Into the Mountains is free for a week via Rocky Ridge Books’ new storefront. We’re still under construction, but it’s worth braving the dust. There’s also a Mark and Allan free short, just to encourage you to look around.

Why did Kurt Carlson become a forest ranger?

Long before he met Jake, Kurt climbed the monoliths of Yosemite with his best friend, Benji. But after a storm traps them halfway up the face of El Capitan, Kurt has to accept that their friendship isn’t what he thought.

Why did Jake Landon become a forest ranger?

A trip with his college friends to a hot springs resort should be fun, not disastrous. But for a man who’s still deep in the closet, everything that can go wrong does go wrong.

Everything leads to two men alone in the wilderness in this prequel to Fire on the Mountain.

Running to Him is ready for you.

March 17, 2020 By Rocky Ridge Books

Pam’s first book in a new series, Men of Monument, is out all over!

Running to Him, Tim and Carson’s story, has some heavy moments, but it also has the blossoming of Tim’s first love, and the thawing of Carson’s heart. Uniting against a common foe will do that to you. They’ve got a dilly, because it’s someone who should want Tim to live his best life and be happy. Well, she does, but only if he uses her definitions.

Here’s the blurb:

Fresh out of college with a chemistry degree, Tim Ratliff’s desperate to move out on his own. He yearns for his own home, his own rules, and the freedom to find the kind of man he’s always dreamed of for his first time. Tim’s applied at every laboratory he can find, but his job search is coming up crickets.

Monument Pharma would be his dream job, and Lorraine in Human Resources swears he’s a shoo-in to be hired. Wonderful, except that’s the one job he dare not take.

At thirty-three, Carson Eddinger’s life is just about perfect—a great position at Monument Pharma, nice home, sweet ride—except for the no boyfriend part. And the constant sniping from the woman in Human Resources.

She isn’t just a thorn in Carson’s side at work—she’s also Tim’s mom, and she has a white picket fence plan for Tim that definitely doesn’t involve a happy ever after with Carson.

They’ve poked the bear. Now they have to outrun it.

***

Keep an eye out for their friends, because Carson’s hardly the only man at Monument Pharma who needs an HEA.  Can Wes find someone who doesn’t want to wring his neck in four hours or less? Can Dave get past his own demons?

Available at Rocky Ridge Books, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Kobo, Apple, and other retailers, in mobi, epub, and print.  This is a little different, because we’re rolling out a Rocky Ridge Books store.  But you can get your choice of mobi or epub direct from your favorite micro-publisher. The link will take you to the solid folks at Payhip, our engine, and you can bypass the big retailers if that’s a thing that trips your trigger. More books will be available as we can get them out.

Happy reading!

Bo and Lucky are back!

February 16, 2020 By Rocky Ridge Books

As Lucky Lucklighter might say, “What took so f***ing long?”

Now available for pre-order at Amazon.

Are you ready for more Bo, Lucky, and danger? Eden Winters sends the SNB agents smack into peril, tests their resolve, and pits them against some of the vilest criminals in Atlanta. This time it isn’t exactly the two of them alone against the world, but definitely the world against them.

Follow the law, or follow their hearts?

By-the-book Bo Schollenberger’s training to be the new boss at the Southeastern Narcotics Bureau. He’s always been the moral compass for his partner Lucky Lucklighter, or Simon Harrison, or whatever-the-hell his name is this week.

Lucky might have read the book, or parts of it, but toes the line between legal and… not so legal. A little moral elasticity lets him out-maneuver the bad guys. It’s not broke, why fix it?

They butt heads at work, but they’re rock solid at home, where their biggest concern is when, or if, they’ll become parents.

Their latest case puts them in a tailspin when drugs flood a local high school and someone hands Lucky’s nephew a vial of pills like they were candy. Unraveling the drug ring leads them straight into a nest of human trafficking, way outside the jurisdiction of the SNB, but no way could Bo and Lucky let the perpetrators leave Atlanta scot-free. No one gets away with harming innocents, especially family.

The letter of the law says to trust the legal system, but doing the right thing might lead them outside the lines.

Especially when the youngest trafficking victim lands squarely in Bo’s lap.

Reserve your copy today!  Be ready to read on the first of March.

Angels and Demons and LoLs, oh my!

January 28, 2020 By Rocky Ridge Books

Carole Cummings’ first book with Rocky Ridge is out now, and it is a hoot. Everything she promises in the blurb, with some zingy one liners that only her characters can deliver.  Much fun in a novella-sized package.

KU readers, this one’s part of your subscription too.

Go on, have some fun, and feel free to highlight the lines that make you do a coffee-spew. They might be the same as mine.

When unassuming college student Emery Sutton wakes up in the morgue, it takes him a few minutes to remember he has magic (superpowers, damn it!) and free himself from the refrigerated drawer. And the body bag. (God.) It doesn’t take long, though, for him to remember the hot guy with the wings he ran into just before a city bus ran him over.

Junior Reaper John, meanwhile, has been summoned before his supervisor to explain how his first solo assignment went so wrong. John can’t. All he knows is that he ran into Emery quite by accident, that Emery saw John when no one should have been able to, and when they accidentally touched, a bus came out of nowhere and plowed Emery under. (John really does feel bad about that.)

Hot angels, annoying demons, hijinks, absurdity, drunk siblings, a dash of silly romance, an inordinate attachment to wings, and a highly disorganized bid for world domination—Don’t Fear the (Not Really Grim) Reaper follows Emery and John down the rabbit hole where they find that moms are scarier than demons from hell, a goat is not a puppy no matter what Emery’s sister says, and awkward romance can happen anywhere.

It’s with a heavy heart that we here at Rocky Ridge say farewell to our friend and fellow author Victor J. Banis. His contribution to our genre is immeasurable. Are you ready to fan the flames for Valentine’s Day?

February 12, 2019 By Rocky Ridge Books

We are!  Join Barry and Adam for Valentine’s Day, where Barry’s big heart and romantic plans for his sweetie will make you giggle.

See, before Eden met Bear, she had some adventures in dating.  The kind where she had to write them into a book, because not only is truth stranger than fiction, it can turn into fiction. The Match Before Christmas got most of it out of her system, but there was some left over for Fanning the Flames. Barry and Adam better brace themselves.

Now this chocolate covered story can be yours for $0.99USD or as close as we could get in your local currency. Enjoy!

The man of Barry’s dreams has gone from a sugarplum fantasy to sweet reality, thanks to the GLBT dating site GetaDate.com. Introducing a new boyfriend to the family and settling into coupledom isn’t the easiest thing in the world for a man with little dating experience, but the romantic demands of Valentine’s Day are beyond Barry’s imagination. His piteous cry for help brings all kinds of suggestions from family and friends.

Fully believing he’s found the perfect ways to charm his sweetheart, Barry isn’t prepared to hear “Achoo ” at every turn. Adam’s allergic to what? And will sneezes and welts wreck Barry’s painstaking plans for Fanning the Flames?

A new shifter novel from Kayla Jameth: Save a Horse, Dive a Cowboy

December 27, 2017 By Rocky Ridge Books

With a name like that, you know there’s a story.

Turns out a rollicking conversation turned into a challenge. Here’s a title, Kayla: write us a story to go with it. Josh Lanyon knows how to get an author’s imagination going.

So Kayla’s taken us to the America Southwest and set the Trickster upon our loving couple. Because Coyote never saw a beautiful thing he didn’t want for himself.

Now at Amazon and soon at other retailers: Save a Horse, Dive a Cowboy.

Shep’s just your average all-American cowboy. He runs his own ranch and rides the occasional saddle bronc. Nothing special there.

Unless you look too closely at his boyfriend.

Descended from a long line of Native American mustang shifters, Charlie “Hoss” Running Horse is anything but average.

When Coyote takes a shine to Shep, he decides that Hoss has got to go. With the theft of the medicine horseshoe that allows Hoss to shift from mustang to human, Coyote sets his evil plan to have his way with Shep in motion.

Will Shep be able to save Hoss before it’s too late? Or will Coyote destroy his rival?

New YA from D.H. Starr: The Spirit of Kilapea

November 18, 2017 By Rocky Ridge Books

D.H. Starr has a new sweet YA novella for us: The Spirit of Kilapea.

Recalling his own wonderful summers at camp, Doug has given us a coming of age story, where Nick, a long term camp leader with a secret meets Kip, openly gay and with a chip on his shoulder. He’s let these two young men learn from each other and blossom into more together than they were separately.  “Mind, body, spirit,” the three pillars of Camp Kilapea, do their magic on these two young leaders.

This story is sweet in that the on-screen contact is hugs and kisses, but very thought-provoking and deep, as Nick and Kip both find something more inside themselves than they believed possible. Hand a copy to your teen (and enjoy it yourself. I did!–Pam)

Can one summer change the lives of two young men?

All-American boy Nick Pinchert, popular, athletic, envied by the jocks and desired by the girls—or that’s what he wants everyone to think. Deep down, he harbors a secret he fears will rip his world apart. His summers of leadership at sleep-away camp are sacred, a time to let go of trying to meet others’ expectations and just be himself…mostly.

Born with a silver spoon in his mouth, Kip Davenport has everything except parents who care about him. He’s grown up shipped from boarding school to boarding school, and Camp Kilapea is one more holding station where he needs to claw his way to the top by tearing others down. Placed in a leadership position he hasn’t earned, Kip plans to deal with the extra resentment the same way he always has.

When the two meet, the attraction is immediate, terrifying Nick and providing Kip with the perfect target for his manipulations. But Camp Kilapea’s teachings challenge even the most obstinate. The three pillars of body, mind, and spirit force campers and leaders alike to examine their choices and to become better people.

But is the spirit of Kilapea strong enough to force Nick and Kip to lower their guards and let each other in?

Available at your favorite booksellers. In mobi and epub, and coming soon, in print.

Hooves and Horns, now at Amazon

October 25, 2017 By Rocky Ridge Books

It’s rodeo like you’ve never seen it, courtesy of Eden Winters.

If bulls#*t could kill….

Professional rodeo rider Kerry Abrams is fed up with bulls#*t. Literally. If the bullshifter herd thinks a lowly mustang ain’t good enough for one of theirs? Good riddance. And good riddance to the too-hot-for-his-own-good, arrogant son of a cow who broke his heart and left him with one less thing to look forward to during rodeo season. He doesn’t miss Armando Castillo at all! Ever! Okay, maybe some. Or every minute of every day.

Why does Armando’s herd have to meddle in his love life? He had the man he wanted, and if that man happens to spend part of his time with hooves and a mane, munching apples beneath a full moon while Armando wears horns, Armando will happily plant Kerry a whole orchard.

Kerry and Armando may be rodeo stars—both in human and animal forms—but the ex-lovers’ rivalry is even more legendary than their riding skills. Armando plans to win his man back. What’s the use of all those silver belt buckles if he doesn’t intend to use ‘em?

This story made its debut in Butt Riders on the Range, but if you missed that collection of silliness and sexiness, you have another shot at Eden’s story, with some extra scenes that didn’t make it into the first version. Have some feels and fun, and that’s no BS.

If you’re a Kindle Unlimited reader, you have 90 days to borrow, or 99 cents will make it yours at Amazon.

A story to quake your heart

September 16, 2017 By Rocky Ridge Books

If you’ve read Eden’s bio, you’ll know she’s traveled to far-flung places with her job. This time, she’s used her time in Central America and an earthquake she witnessed as a pivotal event in What You Can’t Live Without.

Natural disasters have a way of bringing out the truth of one’s soul. Dr. Mitch Rollins has some exploring to do, and so does Dr. Arnulfo Oliva.

Rocky Ridge is pleased to bring you the second edition of Mitch and Nulfo’s journey. It’s a 7.8 on the Richter Scale of Feels.

Dr. Arnulfo Oliva is torn: he could stay in the United States, but he vowed to return to his home country and practice medicine in the remote villages that offer little to no healthcare. Mitch doesn’t need him, not really; he’s surrounded by wealth and possessions.

Rising star Dr. Mitchell Rollins enjoys his lavish lifestyle, and if Nulfo wants to turn his back on all they could have together, let him. Mitch doesn’t even miss him. Much. Or think of him—more than five times an hour.

A magnitude 7.8 earthquake rocks El Salvador and both men. Mitch joins a mercy mission, determined to find his former lover, talk sense into the man, and bring him back to the US and safety. What he finds opens his eyes to all Nulfo tried to tell him.

Mitch must decide what he truly can’t live without.

For a limited time, What You Can’t Live Without will be available through Kindle Unlimited, and can be had as both MOBI and print.  In keeping with the jungle theme, you can find the story at Amazon.

And let’s have a special shoutout to Mr. Winters, who did some nifty photomanipulation to put our heroes in the lush rain forests of El Salvador.

Coming soon, D.H. Starr’s Wrestling series

August 23, 2017 By Rocky Ridge Books

Like Young Adult? Get sniffly at young love finding its way through the thickets of maturing into young men? You’re going to love Rocky Ridge’s newest author.

Welcome, Doug Starr, or, as we find him in the bookstores, D.H. Starr. He’s redone his sweet YA series just for us, complete with stunning new covers and, dare I say it? A fourth book! We get to start with Wrestling With Desire, follow our protagonists to college in Wrestling With Love, see them blossom, with maybe some crash and burn (come on, this is D.H. Starr, you know he won’t go easy on his characters!) and love each other in Wrestling With Passion, and finally, Wrestling With Hope.

We’re starting Derek and Scott’s journey at the beginning, when Book 1 comes out this weekend.

I’ve just finished reading my shiny new copy of Wrestling With Desire, and love it even more than the first incarnation. This is a book I would put into the hands of a teen who wants a good story and could use a few guideposts on working out what real love is. And I would press it into the hands of an adult who wants to watch young men come of age and learn about themselves without following them into the bedroom. This is YA, and appropriately focused on the feelings, rather than the bodies, of the characters.

Derek and Scott are wrestlers too, so Doug gives us some heavy competition and a good look at winning and losing, and what that means to a young man’s growth.

Let’s follow them on their journey.

~Pam

Derek Thomas is a senior and a wrestler, and has a secret. He’s gay.

Scott Thayer is a new student who’s just moved to Cambridge, Massachusetts from Iowa. On the first day of school Derek and Scott meet, and their lives change in an instant.

As Derek and Scott discover the things they have in common, they enter into one of the closest, most loving relationships either of them has ever experienced. When unexpected circumstances threaten to tear them apart, they both have to make a decision.

Do they protect their secret and separate? Or fight for what they want…each other.

Coming in MOBI, EPUB, and print, August 26.

Reunion is live!

August 21, 2017 By Rocky Ridge Books

Catch up with Bo and Lucky! They made each other some promises back in Mexico, and it’s time to make good. Eden has a rip-roaring story for you, because you know the Lucklighter clan has to be a handful.

Even if you’re starting the series here (you could, just brace yourself for your first dose of Lucky), it’ll be a great read.

Reunions can be murder.

A dial tone instead of a human voice announced Lucky’s ousting from the Lucklighter clan over twelve years ago. After living a life of crime. After testifying against his drug lord lover. After receiving a ten-year sentence. Ah, hell. Lucky would’ve disowned himself too.

Now life’s better. He’s done his time and earned a place in the Southeastern Narcotics Bureau’s Department of Diversion Prevention and Control. He has a house. He has Bo, his partner both on and off the job. And pets. But not his folks. The worst part? He’s not sure exactly why they disowned him. Too late now—they think he’s dead.

Now his father needs a gift only Lucky can give. And Lucky’s family has something that may destroy all he believes:

The truth.

Now on Preorder: Reunion, Book 6 in the Diversion series

August 5, 2017 By Rocky Ridge Books

Whoo hoo, Bo Schollenberger and Lucky (Richmond Simon Harrison etc etc) Lucklighter are back!

The SNB agents and lovers made each other some promises back in Mexico. Waiting to die and scarcely daring to dream they might live, Bo and Lucky swore they’d try once more to reach out to their families.

Nobody said it would be easy.

Because if one Lucklighter is a big bucket of stubborn, imagine a whole family of Lucklighters.

Eden Winters sure did, and gave them a passel of problems to go with getting back in the same room. Bo’s not going to know what hit him.

Book 6 of the Diversion series is on preorder at Amazon, and ready to read on August 19, 2017. In print and Mobi, covered with L.C. Chase’s artwork, in 330 pages of love and trouble.

Ready?

Now on preorder: Two Bears and a Baby

June 25, 2017 By Rocky Ridge Books

On preorder now at Amazon, and available widely to read on July 1.

You wanted to know what the bear shifters Sawyer and Dillon got up to next, didn’t you? Not to mention Brad the fox shifter with the libido from hell, Jerry and Kevin, the wolf cousins who have Dillon’s back, and that skulking mutt rogue wolf Brian?

The adventures on Ballantine Mountain continue. Even if you haven’t read A Bear Walks Into a Bar, you’ll enjoy Two Bears and a Baby.

In fact, you’ll enjoy the story more than Dillon does, because you aren’t the one with the bulging belly.

Yes, we got a little goofy: Eden wrote a whole mountain full of great characters, and Pam had to play with them. Mpreg is a departure for us, but honest, Dillon was so ripe for it! All Pam had to say was, “You know, if Dillon and Sawyer…” and Eden didn’t even need to hear the rest of the sentence before the idea became a novel.  We be ebil, but only in the best way.

A bear walked into a bar—and found a family.

The Urso of Ballantine Mountain intended to run a ragtag bunch of shifters out of his territory. Instead, Sawyer Ballantine found his mate. Once the lone bear on the mountain, now Sawyer shares his life and bed with Dillon, who’s still learning how to be a proper bear. Sawyer tells the stories of the First Bears, from whom all other bear shifters descended, but how did two male bears become the fathers of many?

The varied shifters of Ballantine Mountain coexist peacefully—Sawyer manages them with an iron paw. Yet danger lurks. The wolves have plans of their own, and they don’t include taking orders from bears.

Two bears, seven wolves, no contest.

If Dillon didn’t heave every time he smells bacon.

Two Bears and a Baby follows on from A Bear Walks Into a Bar but can be read as a standalone.

This 192 page novel contains randy bears, rogue wolves, a bitey fox shifter, and a certain amount of morning sickness. All yours to read on July 1. Or sooner if you like paperbacks.

Coming soon: Two Bears and a Baby

May 31, 2017 By Rocky Ridge Books

Bear-165x244 Sawyer and Dillon are back. Eden Winters wrote a mountain full of shifters, and P.D. Singer couldn’t leave them be. Some back and forth, and a new story emerged. All your favorite characters who run the Bear Claw Bar or live on Ballantine Mountain are introduced here, from Sawyer, the Urso, Dillon, the young, untrained bear shifter, to Brad, the fox shifter with a heart of gold and the libido from hell.

With a cast like this, you can bet that not only is their first story explosive, but that they have more adventures coming.

o-naked-tailsAnd you may recall Eden’s lovely Southern-flavored romance about possum shifters and small town politics. Too much fun not to stir some Naked Tails into the mix.

Now that story’s almost ready to share. Brace yourselves, because there’s more adventures coming on Ballantine Mountain.

TWo-bears-360x570

This short novel contains randy bears, rogue wolves, a bitey fox shifter, and a certain amount of morning sickness.

Settling the Score, now up for preorder

September 25, 2016 By Rocky Ridge Books

settling-blue-360x570Eden Winter’s Lambda Award Finalist is back, with elegant art from Jacqueline Sweet and an even finer polish.  Joey and Troy have a surprise for the Hollywood hos who did them dirt, and a better surprise for each other.

Preorder price for Settling the Score is 99 cents, so get yours early.

***

Outed and dumped on national television by his rising star boyfriend, Joey Nichols must face the bigotry of the locals in his small Southern town alone. His dreams of a happy ever after lie crushed at his feet.

Novelist Troy Steele has an axe to grind against Hollywood heartbreaker types. Transforming Joey into a gorgeous, unobtainable hunk would be payback worthy of Troy’s poison pen. It’s a brilliant way to get back at Joey’s image-obsessed ex-boyfriend and the movie producer who’s mutilating Troy’s novels.

What begins as simple revenge may tangle them together in something far more complicated. Living well may be the best revenge, but Troy and Joey could rewrite that to loving well.

The second edition of this Lambda Award Finalist is available for preorder now, ready to read October 6.

Set Up by P.D. Singer

February 15, 2016 By Rocky Ridge Books

V4 set up cover“Say hi to Doug at the car show.” Just because Keith is a good pal, has good intentions and has great taste in men doesn’t mean Terry wants his own personal matchmaker.  With his luck and past experience, he and the man Keith set him up with would hate each other on sight. Besides, Terry can’t look for the elusive Doug; he’s too busy ogling a certain gorgeous 1949 MG TC.

The sleek roadster stands out even among a field of classic beauties, and so does the driver. Is it too much to ask that the guy forget about Terry making a fool of himself over the right hand drive and sexy red fenders? Not likely he’ll forget Terry accidentally flinging a bowl of coleslaw at his chest.

If terminal embarrassment isn’t bad enough, now Terry’s had a dental disaster, leaving him with two choices: stay in agony for days, or see the new man in the practice.

Terry’s at the office by one thirty sharp. And he’s parked next to a red MG.

Set Up is the latest short story in the On Call series.

February 6, 2016 By Rocky Ridge Books

AMZ-Bear-cover It takes one strong alpha with a tight grip to keep a mountain full of shifters under control. He might be the lone bear on the mountain, but he’s not going to allow another four shifters to just move in, especially not when they whiff of power. They’ll either be his in all ways, or they’ll be gone.

Dillon, Jerry, Kevin, and Brad have no one but each other since their groups kicked them out. The young bear, wolves, and fox make a merry ménage, pooling their meager skills and serving beer. They’ve stumbled into more than they understand, caught in the dispute between the Urso of Ballantine Mountain and the elk. But winter’s setting in, and they don’t know how to keep Dillon safe for hibernation.

And then a bear walks into their bar.

Otter Chaos by P.D.Singer

September 19, 2015 By Rocky Ridge Books

OtterChaos200x300

Lon Ewing snowboarded in and turned economist Corey Levigne’s life upside down, introducing him to a world he didn’t know existed. Corey’s still adjusting to a boyfriend who shifts into an otter and raids the koi pond—and now Lon says Corey’s department chair is a werewolf?

Wolves at the university, wolves in the bank—across Lon’s desk sits Professor Melvin Vadas and his hench-wolves, demanding a construction loan for the pack’s new lodge in the mountains. There’s just one little problem: the proposed building site is home to a breeding population of rare fish.

What do wolves care for stupid human rules, an otter who’d barely make a good snack, or one pesky man determined to protect the environment? Once they’re snout to snout with Corey and Lon there’s more than silverscale dace on the Endangered Species list.

Includes Tail Slide

Fresh powder snow and running water in the Colorado back country call Lon like the moon calls the wolves. Belly-sliding to a good time on the weekends makes up for a workweek at a desk, and meeting Corey adds a whole new level of fun to snowboarding.

It’s easy to slip away for time alone in the woods without raising suspicion, but how’s Lon to entertain himself when bad snow and a worse spill force them off the mountain too early?

Never give an otter a box of Cheerios.

Redemption by Eden Winters

August 8, 2015 By Rocky Ridge Books

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000035_00023]

Living is the easy part.

Agent Lucky Lucklighter and his partner escaped Mexico alive, only to plunge into bureaucratic fallout from their mission. Hell, maybe Lucky should have stayed south of the border. Especially when the Southeastern Narcotics Bureau places Bo into rehab, and Lucky’s facing both therapy and an inquiry into a fatal shooting. Watching over his shoulder for a vengeful drug lord or a cartel don calling in favors leaves his scarcely able to imagine a future for them as agents, or as lovers.

Bo Schollenberger once had a vision for their life together, but he’s bowed by the weight of his undercover work. Lucky’s hanging on by his deeply chewed fingernails, clinging to hope by making Bo’s dream of a home into reality. The last thing he needs is a phone call from a dangerous man who knows too much, summoning him back to Mexico for “An early Christmas present.”

Not when the SNB brass asks tough questions like “How well do you really know your partner?”

Lola Dances by Victor J. Banis

May 23, 2015 By Rocky Ridge Books

loladances_final02Now in a collector’s print edition!  Victor J. Banis’ landmark Western tale is back!

Sometimes funny, sometimes tragic and often bawdy, Lola Dances ranges from the 1850 slums of the Bowery to the mining camps of California and Montana, to the Barbary Coast of San Francisco.

Little Terry Murphy, pretty and effeminate, dreams of becoming a dancer. Raped by a drunken profligate and threatened with prison, Terry flees the Bowery to disappear into the wilderness of the West.  In the rugged settlement of Alder Gulch, he stands out like a sore  thumb among the camp’s macho inhabitants – until the day he puts on a dress and dances for the unsuspecting miners. As beautiful Lola  Valdez, fame and fortune are within reach, and so, ultimately, is  love.

Prep Work by P.D. Singer

January 9, 2015 By Rocky Ridge Books

CoverDesignExhausted after eating his way through the local cuisines in the back of beyond, celebrity chef Jude Marshall ditches his camera crew during a London layover. He’s ready for a beer and plain, familiar food, the sort a random pub could provide. What’s this artfully presented dish where plain pea soup should be? Parsley? Really? Demonstrating his lack of a brain to mouth filter earns him a glower from his server—and a visit from chef Tommy Bell, a fan of both Jude’s show and his cooking.

Maybe signing Tommy’s copy of Jude’s cookbook will make amends for his lack of tact. When the unexpected arrival of picky diners puts Tommy behind in the kitchen, Jude wants to lend a hand, for the joy of cooking and Tommy’s smile.

Stumbling into this gastro-pub might be the best mistake Jude’s ever made.

July 3, 2014 By Rocky Ridge Books

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000035_00023]There are good guys, bad guys, and then there’s Lucky.

Former drug trafficker Richmond “Lucky” Lucklighter flaunts his past like a badge of honor. He speaks his mind, doesn’t play nice, and flirts with disaster while working off his sentence with the Southeastern Narcotics Bureau. If he can keep out of trouble a while longer he’ll be a free man–after he trains his replacement.

Textbook-quoting, by the book Bo Schollenberger is everything Lucky isn’t. Lucky slurps coffee, Bo lives caffeine free. Lucky worships bacon, Bo eats tofu. Lucky trusts no one, Bo calls suspects by first name. Yet when the chips are down on their shared case of breaking up a drug diversion ring, they may have more in common than they believe.

Two men. Close quarters. Friction results in heat. But Lucky scoffs at partnerships, no matter how thrilling the roller-coaster. Bo has two months to break down Lucky’s defenses… and seconds are ticking by.
